Gmail Video – way cool

There is a backlash developing against Google in the US, but it hasn’t hit me. I love the company for 2 reasons – they are the best technology company in the world and they treat their employees well. Anyways, here is a video from the Gmail team. It shows how gmail messages travel to their final destination. Its way cool! Enjoy.

The future office – simplified, mobile and without IT?

Virtual OfficeFrank Ohrtman over at the Wimax.com blog has written an intriguing post about how WIMAX (wireless broadband) has the potential to rid offices of the IT department. His idea is to get your staff laptops with a wimax account and an intranet and you no longer need to setup an office network or a server. Its a great idea and is very feasible. It will likely benefit small businesses with less than 10 employees in the beginning. But given a few more years, even larger companies could function without an internal technology department!

Newspaper IconMy personal media habits have changed quite a bit over the last few years that corresponds well with my internet speed – the faster I can surf, the longer I stay online. Although the medium has changed, my preference has not. I still enjoy movies and reading news. I watch movies online, on DVD or in theaters. I also consume more news stories than ever before.
